Acer Rubrum also known as American Red Maple or Canada Maple is one of the most widespread trees in eastern North America, where it native from. It belongs to the family of the Aceraceae and is a tree of moderate to rapid growth.

Collection of sap is perhaps one of its most popular traits, as it is the main source and is quite effective to produce a syrup of maple or sugar. And besides not as sweet as the sugar maple. However, not everything on the tree is sweet, as the leaves are extremely toxic.
