There is something quite special about the Pink Ca There is something quite special about the Pink Cassia (Cassia Bakeriana)🌸🤩 and although it's not South Florida native it has become quite a favorite.

With an average height of 30 feet and a wide-spreading crown that holds the long arching branches
This Thailand native becomes quite alluring during its blooming period (early spring).

As it sheds its silky bluish-green leaves to dress up in the most seductive shade of pink with 3- yellow stamens that stand-out.

In mesmerizing effect the upright branches build into clusters of 10-20 cm individual stalks of pink
flowers that with time fade out to white.

Opening with their showy flowering habit, cassias produce enormous, colorful clusters of flowers in pink and yellow tones, showcasing brilliant, lively colors that welcome spring and lure pollinators like butterflies and bees. They are also known to be low-maintenance and drought-tolerant, handling a range of soil types, making them an attractive choice for Florida’s sandy soils.
They are fast-growing trees, which means they can quickly provide visual interest to a landscape and are prized for their versatility. Providing the perfect tropical look that is well-suited to Florida’s warm, humid climate.
Still, if you’re not sure which Cassia will work best for your upcoming project, here are a few things to think about:
Malaysia and Indonesia are the natural homes of Cassia Bakeriana, sometimes referred to as the pink cassia. It blooms from late winter to early spring, gracing the environment with erect branches and lovely pink to reddish flowers that bloom in thick circular clusters.
Cassia Fistula, popularly known as the Golden Shower tree, is native to southern Asia and India. Blooming brightly from late spring to early summer. Its flowers are bright yellow and appear in long, drooping clusters. It is known for being the national tree of Thailand and its yellow flowers symbolize Thai royalty.
The Apple Blossom Tree, or Cassia javanica, is a plant that comes from Southeast Asia and India. From late winter to early spring, the tree’s drooping branches are covered in big, spectacular clusters of pink to purple flowers.
Cassia x Nealie is a hybrid between Cassia fistula and Cassia javanica, first developed in Florida during the 1950s. It is commonly known as the rainbow shower tree, as it embodies both the bright yellow of the Cassia fistula and the lovely pink of the Cassia Javanica.
